Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI has invited us to join him in bringing about a New Evangelization.

In the Archdiocese of Halifax, Archbishop Anthony Mancini has extended a similar invitation:

 Give your parish a digital presence! Use the web to extend the hand of Christ to all.

Reach out to all those young adults in your parish who are not coming to Mass any more. Connect with stay at home moms, "shut ins", and office workers who cannot get to the parish office during the day.

For many of us, traditional parish communities are not relevant, yet we hunger for the Truth, we yearn for connectedness, and we seek a deeper purpose. Yet, we are more likely to meet up with friends using Facebook and Twitter than we are over a cup of coffee after Mass. Rather than ask a question about faith in an evening church gathering, we prefer the more anonymous Google search. The web is here to stay and is closer at hand than the paper bulletin.
