On behalf of the faithful of our parish, Welcome!

We are now approaching our fiftieth anniversary in 2012. The past sixty years has seen many changes and in this mix our parish family has faithfully and consistently proclaimed the Gospel message in Word, Sacrament and Service: Jesus Christ, the Son of God, crucified and risen from the dead, the ‘mystery of faith’! I hope this website will serve well this parish family as we continue along the way in faith, members of the Church at Halifax, in communion with Our Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI.

Ignatius Loyola (1491-1556) was born into a noble Basque family in northern Spain and raised as a gentleman destined for military service, a vocation filled with chivalric ideals. In 1521, while leading the defence of the citadel of Pamplona, he was struck by a cannonball. During his long convalescence, he read a life of Christ and lives of the saints and found himself inflamed with the desire to serve Jesus.

Devotions

Eucharistic Adoration is the practice of worshiping Jesus present in the Eucharist. The Eucharist is placed in a sacred vessel called a monstrance, and is displayed on the altar. At our parish, Eucharistic Adoration is accompanied by prayerful background music, although in many churches, silence is the norm.
Eucharistic Adoration is available every Monday evening. Accept the invitation of Jesus to "Spend an hour with me". Come, let us worship!
